Hello from the USA. I am a beginner and have recieved several desert specie queens from Arizona, USA. They are honey pot, harvester, and A. Versicolor leafcutter.
The queens came in small pill vials with damp paper as fillers. the seller has not replied to some important questions so needless to say I won't be purchasing from this con-man/crook again.
Should I leave the q's in the vials? They are reported to stand up to 30c so I have a heat lamp over them. As they dry out I will dampen.
Thanks for any replies.

These are much Queens you have, congratulations. :)
On my opinion it is better to leave them in those vials, until the colony is too big for them. Do they have some kind of water-spot in there ?

Hello. The seller recommended to transfer the pogos into a sand base. I placed clay pellets at the bottom and sand/humous. It is very damp with heating pad. the queens moved out and are touring the container. I assume they will eventually settle in? I left the A. Versicolors which came 3 q's in the vial. they had damp paper.
Thanks,

If you can put up some pictures we can probably be more help. It would be good to see what the 'vials' look like, also what you have moved the Pogonomyrmex into.
