krnspwn: choosing species (9. Aug 2004 22:19)

hey, I was always insterested in ants. I been reading them and studying them for a while. But ok... I live in CA and i want to start an ant farm. I want a species that will have soldier ants which will fight against invaders and hunt. But I can't import a queen, which means i need native ants to CA or US. And if i happened to get predator type of ants, what kind of farm should I choose? I mean, I like to watch nest activities. So, like... I like to watch nest activies along with hunting live insects of something. So which means that the farm should have good amount of space for hunting area while building a nest where I can observe them. Any species and farm advises?
