Pheidole pallidula, also is it made of plaster, or? and so how would the water revisour work?

i used this about 4 months ago with about 6 workers and i now have about 600 workers and 30 soilders.

Yes, it is made of plaster and you just have to fill the water reservoir and it will gradually absorb the water and become moist.
But if I'm not mistaken Pheidole pallidula can dig through it. And because of their size, they can easily escape.
So I don't think it's a good idea to buy this setup for this species.

I must agree with Antlord. They probably dig through it very fast. For these ants you better use a farm like the one brightbluejacket has.

i need a fairly cost effective set up, im only 14 and it costs alot for the shipping :/

in that case by a second hand fish tank.. and make sure you put plenty of PTFE around the edges..
You could use a ytong nest inside the tank.. or just fill it with sand and let them make there own nest... Simple.. and cheap.
