Yeah. Believe the chamber on the top as an water reservoir is the best thing for basins.

maybe i should make the reservior?its easier to make and 100% sucking in.

Just wondering Miszt.. but would the well still work if i had the bloack laid flat?? Actually i want 2 wells like you said before i think.. Or do u think 1 would be ok lol Sorry for all the Q's

miszt: (30. Nov 2007 17:34)

yeah it will work fine, most ants like a dry and wet section of the nest :-)

or if you feel like being creative with ur glass covering, u culd put the water well in the middle, and have the chambers around it, wuld need a few bits of glass to make it accesable without opening the whole thing every time tho lol

Skippy: (30. Nov 2007 17:40)

remember ... ants dont want all nest in wet ytong ;) , some part must be also a bit dry for cocoons :) , so my system is OK for this

SteveUK28: (30. Nov 2007 18:47)

I got a specialist glass cutter that lives near me miszt.. so the glass is gonna be no problem ;)
I never thought about in the middle.. now that does sound like a really good idea ;) Think i shall have a word with him tomorrow and see if he can do it.

if he can cut circular holes in glass sheets, culd ya ask him how much? coz in London is VERY expensive, and i'd b happy to pay postage and packaging if he'd be willing...

SteveUK28: (30. Nov 2007 19:59)

NP mate i shall ask tomorrow what kind of sizes are you thinking.. same as the ytong block yeh ??

miszt: (30. Nov 2007 20:07)

yeah, say 60cm x 20 cm, with a 15 cm diameter hole cut in the middle..
