heres the pictures as said. as you can see ive cut the Jecetiba in half and stuck on some plastic so i can see whats going inside the shell! going to be very good once there settled in!
in deed they look little. ;) Looks nice. Good luck.
ive seen the queen, she only has 1 antenee, and 2 legs on one side, ive email the ant store. is it something to worry about?
Alan
The queen may struggle to move so she will probably not move alot, but i think she will be ok.
heres a few more pictures of my colony.
She looks a little strange (the queen) in deed. ;) as long if she is healthy (and laying eggs) my guess that she is going to be just fine. but i never had this with one of my queens (maybe she was in a fight after the mating time)
Looks like they where hungry. good job. ;)
yeah i wonder too, or maybe one of the workers got hungary ;). i havent seen her lay eggs yet. how often do they normally lay eggs?
Alan
Looking at the description, it says they can be kept with other ants? So if you put a another colony close to them will they be at peace?
yep, i might try it with my new lasius niger colony! hey jimmy, im gonna be trying the oasis nest soon! so keep a look out!

Alan I have formica fusca and myrmica rubra in peace @ same nest, but it's because they both are peaceful species, lasius niger is very agressive and it will probably kill all the other ants , but im not sure, these ants maybe fakes the indentity or something.. I dont know. Anyway lasius niger probably kills/tries to.
