Yes, mix it with water!
But if you have mixed, than you can use it maximal 3-5 days.
greetings Martin :D
My ants do like honey plus water aswell, but they prefer it some sugar in it!!!
Hmm, I have tried mixing water with little honey in it, I think water is still too thick.
I saw some pictures with test tube with water/honey/cotton in it for ant to drink. Is it a good idea and what about freshness?
Thanks
is undiluted honey bad for the ants?
I often soak some tissue or kitchen towel which is folded a few times so its thick to make a square of about 3cm by 3cm and soak it in water then drip a few a small amount of honey on it, it then soaks in and mixes with the water and your ants are less likely to get stuck on it.
I feed my ant freshly killed insects from my garden ( like beetles big green flys and moths) I also feed them peas or small sliced apples or bananas! Which they love. I also only feed them 2 times a week sometimes 3 times. :angel03:
Hi about honey-water-sugar mix, you used it in the dish with the sponge or without? I am using it in this way you can say me if it is corrected and it works? , I fill up the water in the dish, I insert the sponge I crush it a bit in order to make to impregnate well it of water, then towards some honey drop sweetened over the sponge and add still also some water drop.
every suggest is appreciated
thanks truly
Max
Actually after few days I discover that this method in not good, because some red some red spots have appeared in the sponge i remove them and now give only water in the dish with sponge. For honey-sugar-water mix now I try with cotton cylinders that it can be replaced frequently.

i just give them honey-water mix in a small dish.
Hi Jymmy nice to meet you, i was thinking to put it in small dish, but is not too risky? Ants not traped in?
Bye
