Just some pics of how my ytong nests coming on should be finished in a day or so :

The holes in the top on the last picture have been drilled the length of the nest and i intend to use them as water resoviours to keep the nest moist.

^^ the drilled hoel you can see on the 2nd and 3rd picture is the entrance tunnel. The ytong is going to be placed in the basin against one end of the tank so its an in situ nest. My tank is 60cm x 30 x 30 so there is ample room, im going to try finish it later and have it up and sealed (with sealent :) ) tomrrow then try and get hold of some myrmica rubra or ruginoidis

^^ ill post some more pics tom when the majority of the labour is done, when people are crafting their ytong what do they use?

Im just using a good old fashioned hammer and small chisel are there any recommended tools ?

yer a dremmel with a high speed cutting/routing tool works a treat.

I use a chisel.. no hammer.. i pull it across.. saves loads of time ;)

I used a dremel too, and it only took me like 5 minutes per nest to carve.. Also its a lot smoother.
