The gel farms are not only crewel, your colony will not survive in there !

If you give them a nice farm i'm sure they will survive.

ok i've been looking around on this site what would be the best to get thats less that 50.00

You can easily make a farm on you're own (low cost). Look the gallery of this site, maybe you can find some nice farms over there and copy them. ;)

hey i was wondering how long if ever will the workers of the old colony turn on the queen? (she is from said old colony)

JimmyVe: (8. Mai 2008 17:07)

What ? :) I'm sorry but i don't think i understand your question.

anquietas: (8. Mai 2008 17:34)

lol ok i have 2 queens one that i think came from an early nuptial flight and one i dug up to save (grandma hates ants in her garden because they heard aphids) and i was wondering if the workers from her colony would turn on her if i were to go get a few more than what i got when i dug her up 2-3 days ago o and how long will it be untill she starts to lay eggs again? and for the new queen when will she start and is it good that i have a circket for protien to start her colony? you can easly tell that these are my first queens lol

JimmyVe: (8. Mai 2008 17:49)

If i'm not mistaken you would like to add workers to that colony ? That will not work out well. The workers will kill each other. (and maybe the queen)
If the queens is healthy and well she will be laying eggs soon. ;)

anquietas: (8. Mai 2008 17:52)

ty what about the new queen will she start soon and am i feeding her right water honedew and a cricket with its head off for easy access? and would the workers even kill the dug up queen if they are from her orginal colony?

There is some evidence to suggest that Lasius flavus may be Poly, and even some evidence that local colonies may cooperate with one another and share nest sites! At least in mature sites

It may work :) be prepared however, they may kill one another
