As long if they don't harass the ants (sticking on to them) it is no problem. Most mites are scared of the ants, so if they run away its fine. ;)
Ohh ... lol mine dont have mites , I think ant dude was talking about his colony.
Marshall

Matt
wow great looking ants!!!!
Nice to hear that Matt, good for you. ;)
nice, so are you saying that you camponotus ligniperda are out of hibernation? If so then I might slowly wake my little girls (ants) up from their beaty slumber...
(IM bored so thats why im taking lil wierd lol) :geek:
it depends when you put them into hibernation but if you wake them up now they should be fine
Lol, i think i take my ants outta hibernation in march/april (depends when the nature ants wake up, but i think we will be having a winter some day here this year too, it will be snowy until those march/april) because i put the ants to hibernation at late November (yeah, i shoulve put them to sleep in October, but what can you do with temperatures like 12´C).
Thats a bad thing about finland, ants sleep a bit longer (20-40% longer than central €pean species)
Well i think it depends on where ur ants come from.. mine come from slovakia.. where at the mo its still very cold.. so waking them would not be a good idea at all.. i plan on leaving mine to at least the end of feb.
not sure where mine are from ,i think germany as i got them from antstore, also i am thinking of waking them up in the next few days
