a cold room lol but if you have heating on in every room like i do its hard.. I just turned the radiator off in my spare room and left them on the windowsil.. not warm but not cold.. then moved them out into my shed wrapped up warmish.. n now they are just in there bubble wrap in a draw in da shed.. Hope that helps..
wow thanks for the rapid response er sorry its for my lasius niger
Thats what i have too.. Im sure they will be fine in the garage just give them a good wrappin of cling film.. are they still in the test tube or are they now in a farm ?
Lasius niger need a temperature about 4° or 8°. Dont know how is the situation in your garage :D
some garages are very well insulated, u may not get low enough tempretures to hibernate them, but its probly a good step before u put them in a shed or ur fridge
er my garage is only about 4°c higher that outside most of the time and my fridge is about 2-5° c also they are still in the test tube.
thats fine as long as the temp outside is <6C ;) the UK frequently has temps of 10C even in winter
If they are still in a tube and it is possible for you to keep them in the fridge it not bad to keep them there. If not you can still keep them in your garage, as long if it does not get more than 10°c in there. ;)
ok.. what temp can ants go down to?? i mean most ppl have there fridge just above freezing at like 2°c Would that be harmfull?
2°C is a little bit close to the minimum temperature. But i believe they can handle that temperature.
I dont really know the minimum temperature, but i believe its 0°. But dont want say thats to 100% true ;)
Believe Jimmy can say much more better things about that ^^
