I think I have this Temno/Leptothorax at home. I say I think, because I'm not sure. They were found in nature so...
Anyways... this ants are so small... so very small... so unbelievable small that I spent so much time fixing the formicarium becuase even the smalles hole was big enough for them to escape. Otherwise, very passive ants. At least this mine. I try to keep the ytong moist but I noticed that they stayed in the driest part of it, so now I don't water it so much. Nevertheless, this ants are very nice. Colorful, small, interesting they've kind of grown on me. :wink:

yeah, im thinking of a small cork formicarium that ill place on my island. im deciding which to do. my temnothorax nylanderi on the island, or the lasius flavus in an appartment with oasis in.

They are in deed very small. And i red somewhere that they like it dry (like mpir sad) so maybe a cork nest would work out just fine.

yeah i can see them being very interesting, im split down the middle on these 2 ant colonys, very interested in trying oasis though.

yeah i shall do. still wondering which to get. lasius flavus, or temnothorax nylanderi. i shall have to work out the cost of each.

I have placed my order for my temnothorax nylanderi and island.

going to make a cork nest with plastic top so i can see whats going on inside. ive also brought a hollow plant shell, just incase my cork nest isnt good enuff for them.

once i get my order ill let u know.

I had my L. nylanderi in formicarium like on page http://www.mrowki.info ,"formicarium for 3 zlote" but I don´t like this ant species and I get it for mpir :lol: because he like small ants. This formicarium is easy to build and you need only Tic-tac box and some ytong + cotton tampoon and arena.
