yer its inside the tank, the lamp holder is bolted to the top of the farm lid. i used this lamp holder....

I agree with Steve, how high is the temperature in the corner acrosse the heating lamp ? If its cold enough i see no problem. Still there is the question about the ants getting on to the heating lamp. It would be best if they couldn't. Isn't there a way you can put the heating lamp outside the setup ? Still think that is the best way.
My ants dont crawl on the lamp cos its hotter than the sun and it'll kill them. Surely they know how close they can get before they start to cook.

Hello from USA. I have new Acromyrmex versicolor from Arizona-USA. I am going to try placing a few tables in a fish tank and then fill a few inches with water. I will add a aqua heater to get the humidity and heat up and enclose about 2/3rds. does anyone have add'l comments?
