Yeah
I just shined a light on them and they took all the brood out the tube and looked for a nest :]
But now I will let them be
why did you take the brood out of the nest and why was it flooded because the cotton wool normally sucks all the water up :)
Sithmaster676
I didn't tkae the brood out the nest, the ants did.
Im not too sure why it flooded, but it just did
@scred
Hopefully it will not cost too much as I will build it all myself. Although buying tanks is easyer and you know your getting quality a friend of mines dad builds fish tanks and hopefully he will help me a bit. As for the lighting im unsure.
I might just build myself the tank and not bother getting any other ants just wait a few years for my colony to grow big enough for it.
Yeah that sounds good, though I not sure if lasius niger will fill a tank up that size anyway
It is very nice that your colony's are doing fine. but did you consider starting a new topic about it. ;) it is easier to follow. if you understand.
Greets.
@needforfreedom
i not sure id a lasius niger colony will ever get that big to fill the whole tank i beleive they can get up several thousands so they might well be able to:)

hi does any one know how big a colony of myrmica rubra will get as i need to prepare for there arrival
Sithmaster676
More than 1000, if you look at the ant database here. but I'm not sure, I never counted mine. ;)
hi jimmyve
how long did it take for your colony to reach this size in numbers and i understand why you haven't counted them it would be almost impossible.
thanks
