hello marshall :grin:

very nice :thumright:

my workers are bigger than yours i swear lol. 2day i have noticed mites in the testube they are currently in!!! noooooooooooooo......hope there not a problem 2 the
ants :pale: think i'm gonna move them in a basin 2moz then, as they looked cramped in there anywayz....hope this does the trick.....or maybe hibernate them in our fridge....(if mum/dad let me lol).....do u think this would kill mites hibernate them in fridge???.......before i have got rid of miutes once by simply letting more air escape by removing the lid,as they seem to like humity but i'm unsure at the mo wot to do. wot would u guys do lol...maybe i worry bout this to much lol:P

kashmir79: (21. Jan 2008 22:31)

mites....there was no mites when i sent them off, maybe they are from that Mealworm ?

hope they are ok pal :D

Well Im kinda unexperienced with mite problems as I always give insects which have been put into boiling water (kills the mites and such). But depends what colour might u got there? White ones are supposed to be harmless (pls correct me someone if im wrong) but red ones arent good!
As to stop or remove the mites is something i cannot answer but putting them in fridge wont help you kill the mites (i know this from german forum)

Ohh ... lol mine dont have mites , I think ant dude was talking about his colony.

@ashhad1 , They have been in hibernation before I recived them .... I tryed to get them to go back for a while but they didnt seem to want to. They have had a while in hibernation , I would say long enough but they could of done with abit longer.

Nice pictures and very nice ants, i wish you good luck with your colony. ;)

Mites are in deed a problem, but not all. It is best to boil they food (insects) before you give it to the ants. But in some farms i to have (white) mites. And like asshad said, they are harmless for the ants, they just come to the dead insects.

@jimmyve: wot bout black mites???

it was antstore protein jelly btw :?
