After the unexpected death of my queen ant I am now left with a tank with no ants in it. Could anyone sugest a spieces of ant that lives above ground?
Thanks!
Polyrhachis dives for example....or Oecophylla.....
i cannot be certain, but i am sure all species need to live part of thier life below ground, or least in some secure/enclosed/dark area, (thier nest) even if its above ground, they still need to hide away in a nest, like wood ants, that choose to live in trees, though above ground, are still out of sight, beneath the bark, so perhaps its a re think on where you put your new ants, rather than what the species might be.
Yeah, thats for sure. But he wants to know some ants who live on the ground. And Polyrhachis lives there. They have their nests in wood but on the ground :)
Temnothorax nylanderi u can bye at the antstore shop and they live above ground :!:
Temnothorax nylanderi are wonderful ants, i have a colony myself, although they are very timid, very small and colonys only grow to about 200 ants
