Lowth01: suicidal ants! (21. Sep 2007 11:51)

Is it me or are messor barbarus suicidal ants?
The other day one of my messor barbarus workers walked into parrafin oil and drowned. I saved it the 1st time, it but it decided to walk back up to it when I wasnt around
Yesterday another worker drowned next to the water dispenser which had split a little.
Today I found one worker had stumbled and fell into the water dispenser which I presumed was safe. She was lucky, I managed to save her just in time.
Got rid of the water dispenser and the oil now but I presumed both were safe.
Maybe im just a bad owner

It not that you can learn them things like a dog. ;) I always try to make sure there are no things in the farm that could kill (drown) them. Paraffin oil is not bad only sticky and if the ants get into it they are stuck, that is one of the reasons i stopped using it.
