R3dFox: Mating flights. (7. Aug 2007 21:28)

Ok just a quick question for people around the uk.

Preferably from Birmingham.

Where you live have the ants mating flights already happened? Cause i live in Birmingham and im sure they havent come out yet, tho its getting a bit late i think?

And ive been keeping a eye on a nest in my girlfriends garden. Its under a plant pot, and when i lifted it up there were scores of winged ants. So i have been checking back on it waiting for them to mate.

But when i looked under toady there were none. I dont know if its because it was a bit colder today or what?. But also there did seem to be hundreds of eggs.

I dont think i have missed the flights. I havent seen any winged ants in the open and definatly havent seen any queens on the floor....

So just wondering if anyone could help.

Around my place they have happened and more will still come

The winged ants are probably under ground from where you disturbed them by picking up the plant pot...
