Now..., I have question, about better mode to keep queen or colony when are in a T-tube....
Actually as u can see in photo my T-tube it is darkening by some clay gemmas, that if i remove it for see if are all ok, the colony will be disturbed...
I know i made a mistake, I would have had to put the t-tube close to the glass in order to see the processes and larval stages.....and for see if all ok, but now the tube is it in means, could now to move it close to the glass is too much risky?

Thanks for any advice

You can move it Maxfly ! ;) if you are carful with it you don't disturb them much.

Few minutes ago, one worker goes out the nest, it explore but dont be interested in food and honey-mix, it only explore area, and often it ?grooming?(see pic of this movement by mymercos), the ant slide forward legs on the antennas....

[web]http://www.myrmecos.net/formicinae/LasNig2.html[/web]
Someone can explain me the ?grooming? behavior, what the ants do when they doing this movement?

maxfly: up!need help to understand! (11. Sep 2006 09:53)

up!

Help me please, actually I have see often, more than one time at day, a worker that goes out the nest, but im not understand what searching of, I have try every food, dead bugs as spider, dried cricket..., honey-mix in a drop, fruit, sugar, cooked eggs...dead aphids! I put this in a small dish near the nest. As u can see in previous posted pic. For the cronhicles I have never see worker drink water by dish-sponge. The approach to the food is this, the ant approached apparently seems interested touch it with antenass an after gone away nearly frightened. Apparently are very scared by every liquid.
I have seen that she only eat the dry sugar, the problem is that the sugar melted very hurry and when is melted is too much resistant for being eaten.
There are in the nest many matured workers, but not many pupa's, larvas and no one light young workers.

(In how much time light young worker begin mature black?)

Any advice are very very welcome.

Thanks
