I'm curious to know what uses would Ant box 10x10x20 and glass basin be to ants if I buy Ant Display standard?

I have tried to find the pictures of them in Gallery but no luck.

Could you explains to or show me what is ideal stuff to put in Ant box?

I know how to fill up with 1x clay on bottom, 2x sand and 1x loam & put in tube with wool to keep it moisture for Ant Display standard. I assume this same method can be applied to basin if colony get bigger in near future?

If you use the ant display standard, you need a separate container for food or waste.
The Ant box is not for wet ground. please let it dry.
To answer your last question, yes, you can fill the basin the same way.

About food/waste container, it remind me of ant island which I forgot to mention in the first place but is it ok to use Ant Island 10x20 or 20x30 instead of Ant Box?

For food/waste place you can use all container, but not a ant display.

Woo hoo! About time, Lasius Niger is in stock! I have already made an order for it along with Ant island, display standard and ant box plus general stuffs like sand, loam, clay etc.

I have decided to add ant box because I think it can be used as experiment - eg put in wood barks etc, see if ants can make it a nest with soil taken from ant display or island.

There is an ant nest near my home, intergrated in roots under a stone and they build it like a layers of floors so it gave me some ideas. Thanks
