Here i let my little review about Ant Works Gel.
UNFORTUNATELY I bought 2 of those ant works gel.
Advertisement made by sellers about this product easily mislead people. When we buy we believe we can really create a colony there.
I put four queens of different species, and all died.
Queens feel bother with the gel. After one week they all died. I own the same queens of the same species in different containers of gel and they are all alive with eggs and pupae and ants.
Even if you leave the queens one day or two in the gel and and take them off they will died soon. Even tried to feed them with honey + water and protein.
The only thing I thought was cool in the gel to get a colony grown larvae and pupae and eggs and put them in the gel.
With this you can see the ants digging tunnels looking for the queen.
The tunnels give a cool visual in the gel. ONLY THIS... and after a weeks ... all the ants died.
So if you want to see his dying queen. Put it in the gel .
So if you want to see ants dig tunnels and dying after weeks, put them in the gel.
I should have read more about creating ants before buying this gel.
I'm sure my queen ATTA died because of this gel... And this ant queen is realy hard to find .

Sorry to hear about your Atta queen, they require a completely different type of setup.
Gel " ant farm" are just crap , and the worst is that it looks good on commercial pictures and the result can discourage people from keeping ants again. Actually keeping common ants can be relatively easy and very interesting when kept as close as possible as natural conditions . Informations about the right ways to keep different type of ants are discussed on the forum and are now readily available.
