nerdgeek: Colony Cyphoderus albinus (19. Apr 2010 17:30)

Has anyone here tried to integrate a colony of Cyphoderus a lbinus into their ant colony before?

"These small invertebrates (Collembola) live in ant hills. They are commensals Myrmecophilous. They are very useful for Ants cleaning waste (droppings, mold, bacteria, mosses, etc..) That ants do not always come on time.
This species can be integrated directly into all the colonies, populated or not, they copy the smell of the colony in a few seconds and are not attacked by the ants."

That's what I've seen and was wondering if they are any good?

i havent, but ive heard that they have the same cent as the colony they are with.

so if u try they will probaly get killed, unless u get som that are not in an colony

but i dont think it can hurt to try
