Hiya guys,

Ive noticed that lots of people find it hard to get hold of ytong.. So i thought it might help if i got down all the names it goes by.. might help.. if any1 knows any other names then please add them.

Ytong
Aerated Block
Thermalite

hi,

here is someone searching for an english name for 'ytong'.

there it says:

gas concrete
aerated concrete
autoclaved aerated concrete

I've also heard 'hebel' or somesuch.

you should post some links to stores that appear to sell ytong like products.
This was the closest i was able to find but i am not sure if its quite the same ?

at the bottom of the wiki page there are different names for ytong,

Autoclaved Concrete, Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, Cellular Concrete, Porous concrete, Hebel (Aus), Aircrete and Thermalite (UK), BCA (Romania).

yup thats the ones mate :) Wicks sell them too.. cheaper.. and if u find one with a chipped edge they will discount you further ;)

are you sure because it does say mositure resistant which is not really a trait we want in most formicariums.

that block is differnt to the ones i get from there.. you'll need to just go down to ur local one.. I have got all mine from there.. and they take the water fine like..
