Ant_Dude_USA: Shipment to USA (21. Mai 2004 23:45)

I would like to purchase a colonie of either lasius niger or myrmica rubra from the ANTSTORE and all the supplies needed to raise the colonie. However, I live in the USA and know that I must get a permit to import foreign ant species. Is it possible for you to send the antfarm, food, and accessories to the US without ants? I am in the process of trying to get an importation permit. I would also like to know if 2x loam 2x sand and 1x mould would be good ground for myrmica rubra and what type of tubing I should purchase. Thank you very much for your help.

without ants, we can do it, but the shipping for 1-2 Kg cost 30-50 EUR.
If you want, for us is it not a problem.

Hello Ant_Dude_USA!

I would recommend you 2x sand, 2x loam and 1x potter´s clay granulate. The clay is the best way to get the farm humid used like a water reservoir.

I would also recommend a flexible tube drainage: cut the felxible tube (10mm diameter) a bit less of the height of the farm. On both sides close the tube with a piece of cotton wool and put this composition at first into the ant famr directly at the side. Then fill the potters clay in (2-3cm are enough). Then mixed the sand and loam dry and fill it in. Over the flexible tube you can fill in some water, easy with a pipette.

Now to the porblem to fill in the right country. Normally we don´t send to the USA so the shop system don´t have the possebility to fill it in. Please make a notice at the comment.

Greetings
Bianca
