calufresh: are you thinking of making a store in the US? (30. Jul 2003 23:14)

are you thinking of making a store in the US where you would just sell ants from the US to people in the US? im sure you would get lots of business because you would have no competition. and im sure theres millions of people who would like to have a ant shop going on so that way they could just order some ants that are not from their area. i know that the government here would say no but some how you could persuade them? like only sell eastern species to people that live in the eastern side of the mississippi and vice versa.

Yeah I agree. ANTSTORE.DE doesn't even need to make a store here. They could ship ants to the United States and the buyer would have to provide a permit (I think thats how it works anyway). Technically the seller isn't held responsible if the buyer doesn't provide a permit. At least thats what someone at another online store said.

We already considered it.
But the US Law is a problem.
Because of the fireants , it is forbidden in the USA to dispatch ant queens from a Federal State to another.

Or this ant directory August 97 the fire ant directory:

If you openned a shop in the US you could still sell antfarms and workers(like Uncle Milton or alot of other companies). The thing is, if you want to buy a quality antfarm here it's gonna cost you at least $40(about 35 Euro). It would also be nice to have workers other than just Harvester Ants to watch, they're really boring and repetitive. You would probably make lots of money selling these things. And if you opened a shop here you could still sell queens to anybody in the same state as the shop.

I´m sure to say that ANTSTORE will never sell colonies without queen. For me there is no sense to keep only workers. They will never show full behaviour and lost their aim in life - helping a queen to get a great family; preservation of the own specie :O(

Its hard to say, but such a ant keeping isn´t appropriate to the specie and I would never assist such a shop. Surely the other colleagues are having the same thoughts.
