well as me i got impatient a little with this colony so i found myself a large colony of lasius flavus and so i have boosted the colony which we have spoken about with around 200 of there cocoons and hey have been accepted so hopefully i will have lots more ants :)

i have a Lasius flavus colony from last year, it was a small colony, about 20 workers, now it is about 150-200 workers without boosting. ;)

see i dont have much luck really my colony from last November only has 20 extra workers than it did sll that time ago so colony growth for me is really slow.

luck, hmm, i don't think you need luck. Just a good queen, good food and a good home, most Lasius species grow quickly.

sithmaster676: (19. Sep 2007 19:33)

yeah my new colonies of lasius niger have grown REALLY quick but my old one hasn't maybe it is because they are in my garden shed and we have had a really bad summer

That could be one of the reasons.
