yes my major has its head slighlty bigger than queen.....1 of them roughely same size as queen, and the other one has a tiny head compared to the other lot lol :)

we have lot's of supplier for this ant species and we know that some suppliers from us do make add some workers to the young queens.
But it is not a problem, it is better and helpful for a queen if some workers are helping for starting a colonie. the one supplier had test it some years ago.
you can check it in 3 month after the hibernation, that your colonies are OK.
If you have any problems, you can contact the customerservice.
But the most colonies of Camponotus ligniperda from our stock are with the real small workers from the queen.
I know that the most user will have a colonie with the first real workers.
we have speak with our suppliers that we will have in the future only the real starter colonies.

What martin said makes lot of sense and is true as i orderd C.Ligniperda (my dad bought em) and they were all minor small ones so the first gen worker. I kinda hoped for a major but then weres the suspense until one is born eh?:) Anyway nice ants Ant dude
