If you cover the formicarium with this red stuff (over nest only), is it as good as completely covering it? Could I leave it like this without covering it?
EDIT: Also is there a safe paint for ytongs, one that will not block the little holes? and is superglue safe to use in a formicarium or is an alternative needed?
You do not need to cover up the hole farm, only the nest area.
You could paint the y-tong but i would be careful to paint the nest area. I once painted it with loam and water, than it looks more natural and it can not harm the ants like normal paint.
