The islands can look great, but i think the biggest problem is drowning ants, espcially with smaller/early colonys, if the island had sloping edges going into the water, it would give the ants at least a little hope of being able to get back onto land if they slip in, at the moment the steep edges are a bit of a death trap (obviously the outer edges need to be steep)

Yeah, that is a good idea. The sloping edge should be bit rough, so they get better grip.
