;)
I experienced when they really start moving, they do in the thousands within a couple of minutes....
btw congrats that ur colony finally took off.
Cheers Major
any update on this?
Hello mate , well the colony still is doing great but due to its size i have had to move the setup into a plaster nest that sits within the foraging area. The ants have dug into the plaster , covered up all the viewing ports and also expanded into the substrate under the plaster nest so its impossible to get any pics of them unless there foraging. :(

ROFL, sorry mate but exactly what I told ya. The lil buggers are almost unstoppable once they take off.
Great to hear they are doing well though!!
Ha ha i know Major , lol really didnt expect it though, I came home one night to find there plaster nest riddled with holes and about a hundred ants marching up my wall  lol. so the lid went on and they got moved into the foraging area. :P

Haha sorry to hear that mate! At least thy're doing good! :) I don't really know what kind of set up I am going to put mine in...
I was thinking a large plastic container for the foraging area(with lid of course) the nest are will be tricky, I was thinking also of some plastic containers with test tubes but I don't know any thoughts guys?
Well Diversus like it fairly humid and they love substrate , mine were in a plaster nest which is great while they are small but as i found out the hard way, once big enought they will chew through in hours  . Major any tips or advice for Miallr2012. Majorspud is our Pheidologeton diversus expert

Hello, how is the colony doing now? What would you recommend as a min tank? I have an empty 50x30x30 and a ytong empty nest.. would that work? or would I need bigger (which will be the endgame for me getting them!)...
Hope you reply!
Hello Mate , I no longer have this colony, The queen died a few months ago and the colony has now died off. The tank seems fine for your colony but you may have to expand it at some point in the future. These ants have very large foraging trails and like to go out hunting , similair to army ants
