im thinking of getting some Pachycondyla cf. astuta

and using a 80cm fish tank with ytong inside how long would this last or is cutting a hole easy for extension ?

Hi,

I have Pachycondyla impressa, they are similar and need a big forage area. Make sure the ytong does not take much space inside the tank. I have a small plaster triangle block which occupies roughly 1/6 of the plastic pot I have the Pachycondyla in. Since the colony is slow to grow and does not grow to so many individuals, the nest itself does not have to be that big. And they are very interesting to watch :)
