And it's really fun to see them hunting the flies. Or taking care of the eggs and spawnings. They are great nurses. Once I'd set a little roach inside the formicary and there were only two little nurses. They came out and tried many times to kill the roach, but it was to big for them. Sudenly the queen came out of the egg chamber, what was veeeeeery unusual, and it killed the roach itself. It was like the small ones sent a message telling that it was to much work for them, and mummy came along to give some help. Actually the attack diveded the roach in two... lot of food for everybody!!! ;)

Yes Aka
It's clear the clicking noise.
They can even jump away, by biting the ground, have you seen this? The hit the ground with the clicking movement of the claws and the hit pushes them away.

It's great to live in a tropycal place like Brazil. I made a new project of formicary to try to have anotehr setup of odontomachus. And everything was ready friday. Saturday I was going out and, suprisily, after so much time, there was a odontomachus queen, just in front of the door. Hurray!!!! Great coincidence, or Nature listening the wishes?? Well, it's already in a little bottle with a wet paper ball. The queen climbed the ball right the way... hope the eggs will come fast as well. I'll post photos of it later.
Hugs
