Hello. I have a colony of ants Atta sexdens past month, the fungus is gray-white but is not growing, it is 10cm square and is in an aquarium 50 * 30 * 30 cm heated by two hot plates, the fungus is on Ball clay moist and humidity is 95%. I wonder why my fungus does not grow.
They need the right leaves. Its really hard to keep the fungus in the perfect conditions. Humidity seems fine (maybe a bit to high), heating should be around 20°c-25°c. Good luck.
Any changes? Maybe they don't need more fungus. Have you seen any brood? Do they take carbohydrates?
You should take a look at other blogs of Atta sexdens. Many people give the a seperate plastic box or something where they can put their fungus into. In the small room they can manage the conditions by themself
