evantica: Acromyrmex arriving... (30. Mai 2009 06:34)

Hi. post this under beginner, no answer so...
I have arrange, kind of walkways for my soon arriving ants. because the coloni is not that big, and my -allready- prepered leaf station, is about 8 full meters away from my nestbox, is this wise, the right way??? purhapse better for the coloni to grow strong first...??? or will they fix the "long walkway" in the begining/ when arriving? should I feed them in the nestbox? someone please...

At the beginning you can feed them in the nestbox.

Yes, don't make it to hard for them in the beginning. You can use the feed box later when the colony is bigger.

yes, for the first few weeks I just drop leaves right into their nest. Gives them a good help in the beginning
