I'd definitly get a thermometer, its an essential tool for ant keeping, even european species, get yourself one with min/max temps aswell, that will give you an idea of the temp flux, any small draft or water pipe in the wall can cause big local changes in temp, slow temp changes, for eg day to night are not a big problem, its big changes rapidly you need to worry about, or if the temp goes over 30C, even for a short time, this can also cause problems

im getting this http://www.antstore.net/shop/product_info.php/info/p373_Thermometer-Hygrometer.html/XTCsid/97fa918ef155aa9530a41e03ad62befb

and my temp isn't over 30 as i my fan would be on and every single window would be open

update: my caespitum queen has finally laid an egg :)

JimmyVe: (13. Jul 2008 11:54)

;) Great news for you. Hope it turns into a worker than.

gabranth: (23. Jul 2008 06:02)

she eat the eggs again and has now laid another one :? i think its because she's hungry i don't think she eats the protein jelly so ill only give her fruit fly's from now on

You can try that. If she keeps eating the eggs it could be she is not fertilized.
