I've been feeding by pheidologeton with hamster food, they love it! Good source of carbohydrates and protien, and minirals/vitamins :) might be worth a try, and for your Pheidologeton to

JimmyVe: (28. Jan 2008 18:43)

@ steve: Okay they drag it inside but are they eating it ? ;) If i give mine seeds they drag them inside but they don't eat it and if the seeds get moist they hatch and than you have weeds in your tube. ;)
But it is possible that they will eat it. Just keep an eye on them.

well most of the time there is around 3-7 ants around each peice in the test tube.. so i assume they are doing somat to them..

JimmyVe: (28. Jan 2008 21:29)

;) hehe. Well we need to be patient and see what they will do with them. Keep us informed.

any news from anyone?

badman: (21. Feb 2008 03:19)

can t you use a moat to stop them escaping? You might get the odd one drowning, but it's a pretty fool-proof method

Phasmid: (21. Feb 2008 10:47)

In my experience, a moat must be one of the least fool proof methods I've used, my ants just float accross. :? . Unless you use oil, but that can be messy.
