armyoforigin: (30. Jul 2008 11:41)

My queen just arrived.

She is dead :'(

I am gutted. I am just about to send a mail to the seller.

=(

I suppose I will have to try next year.... Or something.

kashmir79: (30. Jul 2008 12:18)

or im sorry about that dude :(

you will get your money back though. did you have Next Day delivery ?

just been watching he gather her eggs up. she has about 150 eggs ane 3 small larvae !! :)

armyoforigin: (30. Jul 2008 12:31)

Yes I had next day delivery.

I had not paid for her yet. I can either cancel the order or get 3x Pogonomyrmex's. I am just gonna cancel the order :-(

I either have to send her back in an envelope or take a picture, and since I do not have a camera I am looking to borrow one of my sister.

Glad to hear that your queen is doing so well :-) Hope she does really well ;-)

kashmir79: (30. Jul 2008 15:12)

why not get 3x Pogonomyrmex's their beautiful big harvester ants

armyoforigin: (30. Jul 2008 15:58)

why not get 3x Pogonomyrmex's their beautiful big harvester ants As it says on the sellers website they need sand to tunnel into and a high temperature in order to lay unlike most ants. I cannot provide this. :-(

And as I have read on this site, too many people buy ants then ask for advice on keeping them and cannot provide what they need.

I am upset about the Rhea queen but will probably get a Formica Cinerea, as they seem great :-) And I would love a big ant, (That is relatively easy to care for) but that's not to say that my little ants aren't great ;-)

As I said before I hope you queen makes a great colony, and please make sure to keep us updated! :-)

she looks like Pheidogolaten queen !

I think you mean Pheidologeton , not ?
Could be she looks like that but the queens of that species or much larger than 14mm. (up to 25mm if i'm not mistaken)

Yes keep us updated and i'm still waiting on the pictures. ;)

btw: from which store did you buy them ?

That is where we (me and kashmir79) got our queens from.

He is getting some honey pot ant queens in later this week, ~£20 I think ;-)

He is very reliable.
