AntNoob: Myrmica rubra - Queen leaving colony (26. Jun 2010 20:44)

Hey.

My colony with 3 queens of M y r mica rubra seem to be fine, but 1 of the queens has left the nest two times, but it is maybe not the same queen.

I am a bit worried of what could be wrong,

I have taken the queen that left the nest and putted her into a test tube, so now ill see what happens to her.
She may have a disease, is that possible they will then kick her out?

in my colony several queens are always outside but they never move far away from the nest. Sometimes the workers drag them back...

Lol ants work in mysteries ways, I also found out there is 4 queens

Very normal. I wouldnt worry about it bud. My ants have made a satalite nest in the outworld with 2 queens... :twisted:
