nerdgeek: My new Myrmica rubra colony (24. Apr 2010 19:52)

I have a 30x20x20 ant store glass basin, filled half of it (up to the tube holes) with plaster chambers that I made. I let them out today from their transportation container what they came in. While the 3 Queens went to ground into the paster chambers to get comfy half of the colony went straight to the local honey watering hole...... WOW they were thirsty !

I'll get a photo of the basin and where the ants are tomorrow if I remember !

It's nice to have a 100+ strong colony as my C.Cruentatus Queen is now on her own after the single worker had died .. :(
