So today I got my queen and see looks beautiful :) . Have a colony of M yrmica rubra it really gives me a perspective on how big she is! :shock: Unfortunately cannot post a picture since I just put her down in her make shift outworld w/test tube and do not wish to disturb her anymore!
I am looking at them now and thinking about asking my mam if I can get them because they r on special offer a queen and 8 by 4.5 inch ytong nest for only £9.95.
They certainly are great! My queen seems to rarely venture away from her larvae, can't want till the first workers!
BTW if your looking at CG ants, I wouldn't recommend them. I got two messor colonies both dead within 2 days, with fungus growing in both test tubes!
I was thinking about getting a different species unless I can find a really cheap moisture meter.
Antstore do them cheap enough from what I remember. I have 2 now, one for my P heidole and one for my M anica rubida. Perhaps ebay also has some you could use which are closer to home. My M anica are probably about 1 week away from having the babies wander around. I can't wait!
