jacobjohnson: HELP...Messor barbarus new queens (27. Nov 2015 12:24)

Hi, i come from Taiwan, it is winter here (15C~25C) , i bought ten new queens about 1 month ago. But they still haven't laid any egg...... and even one of them died. I have no idea how to take care of them, somebody help me please. The cotton are molded, will it be harmful to queen, shold i change.
I saw some people said that it might help if i put others messor's pupae with new queen. Is it true?

Thank you
(and sorry for my poor English....)

Messor barbarus need hibernation. Just keep them for a few months at about 10-15 °C. After that just put them in a normal room or even a little warmer room (25 °C is fine 20°C too) and they should start laying eggs.
Why do you buy animals if you have no idea how to keep them?
