hey all!!

I am very happy that i am now the owner of a Messor b arbarus Queen! She came in the male today and i was just amazing by the size! I the picture that i will post i you see she has a few larve so i hope to get my first workers in a few weeks time. For now i just have to wait and see what happens!!! I also order a heating cable so i can give het the heat needed. She is still in the test tube and i plan on keeping the colony in the test tube and and 1 or 2 more before getting them a new and bigger nest. i have covered her up with a peace of the box she came in with! so its should be nice and dark!

That's great! Yes, the Queens are really big and well built. Try to leave her alone as much as you can, I've heard that stress causes the Queen to eat her young and worst case scenario it can kill her. Fortunately I've not experienced this myself, my Queen arrived with about 20 workers and they dug a nest really quickly then she went into it and kept having babies :-)
