I have kept 2 basic species of ant in the past ( L asius niger) and ( L asius flavus) but now need some thing more challenging
Firstly I was thinking of M essor barbus however won't be able to have a source of heating (just my room) and was wandering wether heating is a really important part of keeping M essor barb ar us...
Second choice would be Camponotus herculeanus as I liked the fact it has minors and majors  And can be kept at room temperature, but was wondering are they good as my first central eurapeen species
Would it be ok to keep these species in a y tong set up?
Sorry for all the questions I'm new here
Thanks
Hi, antzz
I would recommend the Camponotus as they are easier to keep. Both should do well in an ytong nest (although I prefer plaster).

I was thinking plater but moulds after 6 months so I'm going y tong does M essor barb ar us have to be kept at 24-28 degrees as C amponotus is my reserve genus [species] :D
But thanks for the reply so soon :)
