Hello Markus, so I got to read a lot on this site using the translation option.

I have 4 colonies, but the M essor ba r barus is by far my favorite. They are being housed in a 5 gallon fish tank filled with white sand. Heat pad on bottom, soft red light on top with no lid. I am always thinking of different foods to give them. Currently giving them a mix of finch bird seed, niger seed, poppy seed and small white termites (easily their favorite along with the niger seed.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

i would remove the heat matt from uder it, because the heat will dry out the nest to fast try using a red heat bulb. i have to agree with the niger seeds but its realy messy, they just leave the seed shells every where i have to keep on cleaning them out. They have not yet made bin area.
