Hello forum peoples,
Just a quick question, I can find alot of information about Messor barbarus but almost none on Messor cf. capitatus is there a reason no one seems to keep them or is it that Messor barbarus are easier to get hold of and easier to keep.
What little information I have managed to find leads me to belive they are very simalar to Messor barbarus in they way you should keep them. Is this correct or have a missed a massive bit of info which is why no one seems to have them?
Thanks,
Tris
Messor capitatus are like most other Messor very much like Messor barbarus.
I could observe them in nature when i was in Croatia. They live quite dry and feed mostly on grass-corn but I also saw them collecting dead insects .
The majors of Messor capitatus are also very big and nearly can´t walk with their giant heads. You shouldn´t use to much pipes and stuff because that could be a problem for the majors and media workers.
But you are right to keep them like Messor barbarus.
baumarkthammer, thank you for your reply. So basicly keep the pipe runs between areas short but other than that keep them like any other Messor.
Cheers
Tris
