Hi i have 2 M essor barbarus queens is there anty way i can put them together to form one colony?
as far as i know, no, Messor ba r barus are monogyn
but i´m not sure.
I wouldn't take the risk.
ive just got my Messor barb a rus queen but my room is dark and i want to see if she has got any larvae but want to check will putting the light on or picking her up in the test tube stress her to much :?
Monogyn ant species can often found a colony with another queens, this is calles pleometrosis,
the problem is, that they naturally will fight (fewer or later) after the first workers are there.
That includes the risk, that they die both, so if you dont want to make experiments, you should let them found alone!
