So just over a year old now since i first got this queen and as you have seen since coming out from hibernation the colony is doing very well. So just a couple of pics from inside the nest and a short video showing the progression. I’m considering changing their nest as i’m affraid the plaster inside the faunarium will slip causing a disaster. I have made another but i will need to persuade the ants that the alternative nest will be better for them, anyway that will be a few weeks away yet before i get around to doing this.
In the pics we see which i think is the larvae from the previously shown eggs laid after the winter break, and the next pic i think could be the pupated larvae from left over from last year. ( Not sure on that though )

Thanks for update all is looking good for you :thumright:
I want to order this spec but they only have the queen with no worker option, and I am looking to give them a boost with a few worker to start with so Im going to have to wait, plus my setup isn't quite finished :?
Why dont you just get a couple of queens and start from the beginning ? you get much more satisfaction from starting from scratch, and it wont take long before the queens have their first workers.
I might, but some say it's really hard to start from scratch with this specie as they get stressed offen, and I wasn't looking for a large amount of workers just 1-4 to get started as this will be my first southern eurapeen specie :)
