Lewis: Lasius umbratus (22. Aug 2012 13:10)

I am pretty sure that the queen I found is L.umbratus and I attached a tube of L.niger workers with cocoons and at first the queen showed aggression but then she walked into their tube and now the workers are licking her!!

I took them out of the fridge and a worker latched on to the queens antennae!! but I removed this rowdy worker and the rest seem fine with it. :)

:( the wokers turned on her and I got there just before the queen died, she is now reviving with a drink of honey water, hope she makes it :). I think that I was supposed to let the workers sit for about a week so they realize that they are orphaned and that makes it easier for them to be adopted. I will try this. Anyone how has had experience with these please help!
