I'd just taken some trimmings to my compost bin to find a load of ants on top, and alone behold, some ready for their nuptial flights! ive captured one female and some workers in a test tube. Does anyone know the chances of her being fertilized?
Ive just caught some more with wings and put them in the same test tube, i think i may have one queen, her gastix seems slightly bigger than the others
If you catch them before their nuptial flight the chance is just about zero. Wait until after it when you see them running around on the ground without their wings.
