delete-14751: Help! MITES (I think) Help! Quick! (17. Sep 2010 20:04)

I woke up this morning to find thousands of fairly fast (for their size)moving, very tiny white dots about less than half a millimeter, on the lid and around on the glass of my tank. What are they? Are they bad for me and the ants? What should I do to get rid of them because I keep my ants (Lasius niger) in my flat and dont wont them spreading everywhere?

Mites often have hard problems with dry enviornment. Take a look around the forum there are big and very professional threads about mites and how to get rid of them.

I for myself prefer VITA BIOSA but it only works in some nest types. If you have a sand/loam nest the chance is very high that it wont work.
