Interesting to see all these threads on Lasius niger (wish we had them here in Canada). However, here are photos of one of my many Lasius neoniger queens that I am bringing out of hibernation. Over the winter her gaster filled up with eggs and she's ready to begin laying from the looks of things. She's in one of my store's Pumice Stone Ant Nests.
